Mewn systemau cyfathrebu, er mwyn hwyluso trosglwyddo signalau a chyflawni ailddefnyddio sianeli, mae amledd y signalau a drosglwyddir yn uchel iawn, felly mae trosi amledd signalau yn agwedd bwysig ar ymchwil i systemau cyfathrebu. Yn ôl y sefyllfa cyn ac ar ôl trosi amledd, gellir ei rannu'n drosi i lawr (gostwng amledd) a throsi i fyny (cynyddu amledd).
Yn y derbynnydd, os yw'r signal amledd canolradd a geir ar ôl cymysgu yn is na'r signal gwreiddiol, yna gelwir y dull cymysgu hwn yn drawsnewidyddion bloc i lawr (LNBs).
Dull lawr-drawsnewidyddion bloc yw lluosi'r signal a dderbynnir â'r signal osgiliadur lleol a gynhyrchir gan yr osgiliadur lleol, ac yna cael y signal wedi'i drawsnewid trwy hidlydd pas isel. Gellir rhannu dau signal wedi'u lluosi yn gymysgu go iawn a chymysgu cymhleth trwy gynrychiolaeth go iawn neu gymhleth.
Pwrpas trawsnewidyddion bloc i lawr yw lleihau amledd cludwr y signal neu gael gwared ar amledd y cludwr yn uniongyrchol i gael y signal band sylfaen. Oherwydd ei gylched syml a'i chost isel, defnyddir y dull trawsnewid i lawr yn helaeth mewn offer sifil ac offer milwrol sydd â gofynion perfformiad isel.
1. Teledu Lloeren: Mae LNBs yn gydrannau allweddol mewn systemau derbyn teledu lloeren. Maent wedi'u gosod ym mhwynt ffocal antena lloeren (paraboloid neu ddysgl), yn derbyn y signal teledu a drosglwyddir gan y lloeren, ac yn ei drawsnewid yn signal amledd canolradd y gall y derbynnydd ei brosesu.
2. Rhyngrwyd Lloeren: Mewn systemau Rhyngrwyd lloeren, defnyddir mwyhaduron i dderbyn data Rhyngrwyd a drosglwyddir o loerennau. Mae offer y defnyddiwr yn derbyn y data trwy'r LNB ac yn ei ddadgodio a'i brosesu trwy'r modem.
3. Cyfathrebu Lloeren: Defnyddir mwyhaduron RF yn helaeth mewn amrywiol systemau cyfathrebu lloeren, gan gynnwys ffonau lloeren, darllediadau lloeren, trosglwyddo data lloeren, ac ati. Maent yn helpu i dderbyn a phrosesu gwahanol fathau o signalau cyfathrebu a drosglwyddir o loerennau.
4. Arsylwi'r Ddaear a Synhwyro o Bell: Mewn rhai cymwysiadau arsylwi'r Ddaear a synhwyro o bell, defnyddir mwyhaduron microdon i dderbyn data synhwyro o bell a drosglwyddir o loerennau. Gellir defnyddio'r data hyn mewn monitro meteorolegol, monitro amgylcheddol, rhybuddio am drychinebau a meysydd eraill.
I grynhoi, mae gan LNBs rôl hanfodol mewn systemau cyfathrebu lloeren modern ac fe'u defnyddir yn helaeth mewn darlledu teledu, mynediad i'r Rhyngrwyd, cyfathrebu data ac amrywiol feysydd proffesiynol.
